We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Night Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and staff. This role is essential in ensuring that care plans are executed with precision and that the highest standards of senior care are maintained. The role is for waking nights and shift pattern is from 7.00pm - 7.00am.
Duties
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and meal preparation.
Implement and update individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
Supervise junior staff and provide guidance to ensure quality care is delivered consistently.
Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health status.
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to foster a supportive environment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home.
Participate in training sessions to continually improve skills related to senior care.
Hours worked per week will include some weekends.
Requirements
Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is ESSENTIAL
Strong leadership abilities with a drive for excellence in caregiving.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with residents and colleagues.
Familiarity with IT systems for maintaining care records is advantageous as we use an electronic platform for documenting all care and support
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
A genuine passion for providing high-quality care to seniors in a residential setting.
Must be reliable and fully flexible to be able to cover sickness, annual leave and emergencies at the last minute.
Ability or organise and prioritise workload and work under pressure
Physically and medically able to carry out duties and responsibilities.
Must hold NVQ level 3 or be willing to work towards.
Must have experience of Medication Administration and hold current certificate
Team player, self-motivated, proactive, and adaptable.
