The Opportunity:
We are looking for a highly accomplished and experienced Solicitor to join us as a Director, bringing invaluable leadership in compliance, risk management, and strategic development. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a new firm, establishing robust internal frameworks and contributing directly to our reputation for quality and compliance from day one. Your extensive experience will be crucial in ensuring we not only meet but exceed SRA regulatory requirements, particularly in strengthening our Professional Indemnity Insurance profile as we commence trading.
Key Responsibilities:
SRA Compliance & Risk Management:
Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive SRA compliance policies and procedures.
Strategic Leadership:
Contribute to the overall strategic direction and business development of the firm, leveraging your market insights and legal expertise.
Supervision & Quality Assurance:
Establish and oversee robust supervision frameworks for all legal work, ensuring the highest standards of client care and professional conduct.
Training & Mentorship:
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior solicitors and fee earners, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Policy & Process Development:
Develop and refine internal policies, processes, and systems to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality legal service delivery.
Business Growth:
Actively participate in attracting and retaining clients, building the firm's reputation and client base.
What We Are Looking For:
Extensive PQE:
A minimum of 3 years' Post Qualification Experience as a practicing solicitor in England & Wales.
Proven Leadership:
Demonstrable experience in a senior or management role within a regulated law firm.
Compliance Acumen:
In-depth knowledge and practical experience with SRA Principles, Code of Conduct, and Accounts Rules. Prior experience as a COLP or COFA (or significant involvement in these functions) is highly desirable.
Risk Management Expertise:
A strong track record in identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal and operational risks within a law firm environment.
Commercial Mindset:
Ability to balance regulatory compliance with commercial objectives to drive sustainable growth.
Excellent Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
Passion for Building:
An entrepreneurial spirit and a genuine desire to contribute to the foundational success of a new, forward-thinking firm.
