We're looking for a skilled Sous Chef with strong grill cooking experience and a solid background in Caribbean cuisine. The ideal candidate will support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, lead the team during service, and ensure high standards are consistently met in a fast-paced environment.

Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced and passionate Sous Chef to lead our small kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food preparation and production. As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring that our dishes meet the highest standards of quality and presentation while adhering to food safety regulations.

Responsibilities



Support the Head Chef in leading a tight-knit kitchen team and fostering a positive work environment. Responsible for administrative tasks, eg, ordering supplies, temperature checks, food safety checks etc. Supervise and train junior staff, encouraging teamwork and growth. Monitor stock levels and help manage food costs effectively. Maintain high food safety standards and a clean, organized kitchen. Oversee daily food prep and ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation. Assist with menu development and contribute creative input. Collaborate with front-of-house for smooth service and guest satisfaction. Step in to resolve kitchen issues quickly and efficiently when needed.

Experience



Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role. Experience in grill station operation. Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices. Demonstrated ability in team management, leadership, and supervising staff effectively. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
