The Support Worker plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in various settings, this role is based in a private home. This position is essential for enhancing the quality of life for those in need of support due to age, illness, or disability. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to fostering independence and dignity while ensuring the safety and well-being of client. Highly experienced in autism and complex needs is a requirement for this role.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care and support to client, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
Provide support to access community activities of choice
Engage client in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the supervising care coordinator.
Implement behavior management strategies as needed to support client with specific challenges.
Drive client to appointments or social outings as required.
Own vehicle and business insurance for your own vehicle is required as school pickups required.
Skills
Experience in working with people with Autism and challenging behavior is expected.
Knowledge of Autism and complex needs and general care practices is beneficial.
Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support tailored to individual needs.
Proficiency in first aid and emergency response procedures. Training is offered
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with client, families, and healthcare professionals.
Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and understanding.
Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and client needs while maintaining a positive attitude. This role requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others through quality support and care.
