Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our Experienced team at The Grammar School, Leeds. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate swimmers of all ages and skill levels. As a Swim Instructor, you will play a crucial role in promoting water safety and developing swimming skills in a fun and engaging environment.

Lessons at our Leeds venue run Saturdays, 1pm - 4pm, term time. Candidates must hold either Swim England LVL 2 or STA LVL 2 qualification.

Skills and qualities required:

Previous experience in sports coaching or teaching is highly desirable. SE / STA Level 2 Teaching Aquatics Qualification or SE / STA Level 1 Teaching Aquatics with a view to achieving Level 2 in the near future. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with students of varying ages and backgrounds. A solid understanding of swimming techniques and water safety practices. Certification in lifeguarding or first aid is an advantage but not mandatory. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required. A positive attitude, patience, and a genuine love for teaching others how to swim.
Our venues are:

Ackworth School near Pontefract, Silcoates School in Wakefield, The Grammar School at Alwoodley, Leeds.
Our lessons are held Monday to Friday evenings, Saturday and Sundays during school term time. There is scope for further hours at other venues.

Desirable Skills

Baby & Pre School certificate NPLQ Pool Lifeguard Certificate Experience or CPD trained for delivering adult lessons Level 2 Award in Aquatic Teaching - People with Disabilities
Pisces Swimming School has been teaching children to swim for 25 years. We are passionate about teaching children to become confident safe swimmers, with great stroke technique and equip them with the skills to enjoy all water-based activities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 18.28-20.50 per hour

Expected hours: 3 - 10 per week
