About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Transport Planner to join our operations team. This role is key in supporting the day-to-day planning and coordination of our fleet, ensuring efficient and effective routing of jobs across multiple vehicle types.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and route approximately 350-400 jobs per day across a mixed fleet. Allocate and schedule vehicles including Sprinters, 7.5T, 18T, trailers, and temperature-controlled units. Ensure vehicle loading plans are compliant with weight, pallet, and cubic capacity restrictions. Support the operations team with daily duties and problem-solving. Communicate effectively with drivers, colleagues, and customers. Use daybook and other software tools to allocate jobs, manage routes, and update records. Handle emails and calls professionally to support smooth operations.

Skills & Experience Required:

Previous experience in transport planning, ideally within a busy logistics environment. Strong knowledge of the UK road network. Understanding of load configurations, weight limits, and vehicle capacities. Experience planning for different vehicle types including temperature-controlled units. Knowledge of airfreight operations (advantageous). Computer literate with the ability to use planning systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
