What We're Looking For
A part-time
member of the Front of House team
to help to serve customers food & drinks.
This role would suit a student or someone looking for flexible hours to supplement their income.
About Thirteen
Thirteen is a 22-cover fine dining restaurant in Poole, listed in the Michelin Guide.
The concept is contemporary British cuisine providing tasting menus for lunch and dinner. This reservation-only restaurant also provides a wine pairing option and a selection of cocktails.
Thirteen is located between Poole and Bournemouth on Ashley Road, Parkstone. The restaurant is on the
major M1/M2 bus route
and there is unrestricted on-street parking nearby.
As a
front of house team member
you will work directly with the Sommelier, Head Chef and Maitre D' to create an enjoyable, outstanding dining experience.
Responsibilities will include
Ensure the restaurant is prepared and set up for service.
Attend pre-service team briefing with Head Chef.
Serving tables.
Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
Liaise with the restaurant team to maintain seamless service from start to finish.
Basic cleaning duties.
Polishing cutlery & glassware.

Essential experience and qualities
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Courteous and well presented for a high-end restaurant.
At least 1 year front of house experience, either in a bar, restaurant or cafe.
Genuine interest in fine dining, willingness to learn.
Desired experience and skills an advantage
Barista skills.
Cocktails & mixology.
Personal license holder.
WSET training and wine knowledge.
Willingness to learn about food preparation and culinary techniques is a plus.

Typically, shifts would cover selected Friday nights, selected Saturday nights and selected Sunday lunch shifts. We open for Sunday lunch approximately twice a month.
We are always closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Pay & Tips
This is a zero-hour hourly paid role, variable subject to reservation level.
Gratuities are shared with all employees based on the number of hours worked, and is included in the monthly payroll.
