Purpose of Role

:

To coordinate and manage the movement of freight shipments across multiple transportation modes, ensuring accurate execution, compliance, and effective communication with customers. This role supports the freight team by handling day-to-day operational tasks with a focus on delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate the movement of export, import, and cross-trade freight shipments using various modes including road, sea, and air.

Liaise with customers to secure shipment authorisations and handle queries.

Track and monitor cargo movements from origin to final destination, ensuring timely updates.

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and necessary shipping documentation.

Prepare and complete customs clearance processes.

Obtain competitive freight rates and prepare quotations for customers.

Manage shipment bookings through shipping line portals and CargoWise One software.

Maintain own P & L's weekly

Maintain accurate records and prepare documentation for invoicing.

Support the identification of new opportunities for freight lanes or services.

Provide regular communication and updates to customers and internal teams.

Contribute to efficient team operations by working independently and collaboratively.

Knowledge and Experience:

Minimum 1 to 2 years' experience in freight forwarding

Practical understanding of export, import, and cross-trade shipping processes.

Familiarity with CargoWise One or willingness to learn.

Basic knowledge of customs procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment.

Qualifications

Relevant logistics, supply chain, or freight forwarding certification is a plus but not mandatory.
