External Funding Officer (Fixed Term for up to 12 Months) - PKC13299

You will contribute to the development of funding propositions to deliver the strategies and policies that support sustainable economic growth in Perth and Kinross.



The post sits within the Business, Place and Investment Team, which leads on the delivery of projects and initiatives that strengthen the Perth and Kinross economy and support business and community resilience.



The postholder will play a key role in supporting the delivery, monitoring, and closure of UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) projects up to March 2026, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and maximising drawdown. You will also help position the Council and its partners to respond to future government funding programmes that support local and regional economic priorities.



The role will require extensive research and analytical skills, familiarity with the policy context driving relevant external funding sources and a high level of competence in bid writing, communication and team working.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is able to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision who can thrive in the role and bring a positive attitude to work.



You should have experience of working across organisations and be effective in developing external and internal relationships to assist in identifying and securing relevant external funding sources.



You must be able to lead on the day-to-day management, monitoring, and reporting of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) programme and projects within Perth and Kinross, ensuring compliance with all funding and audit requirements.



You should have working knowledge to support project leads to complete claims, evidence outcomes, and meet funding deadlines.



You require attention to detail to prepare monitoring reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders, including UK Government returns.



You will be required to coordinate and support awareness raising at council and partnership level of external funding opportunities through establishment of, and effective use of, corporate and partnership communication networks and channels.



You must be able to demonstrate you have supported the development of major funding applications and business cases, with a particular focus on those that support economic growth, regeneration, and economic recovery.



You should be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.



A knowledge of the Economic Development issues, along with an awareness and understanding of the current challenges is required.
