Start Date: September 2025


Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent, Term-Time (with flexibility to run clubs during term)


Salary: 22,000 - 25,000 per annum


Working Hours: 8:30 am to 6:00 pm (2 days a week), 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (3 days a week)

About the Role




Vita et Pax Preparatory School is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, committed, and nurturing Early Years Practitioner to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team in delivering high-quality care, teaching, and learning experiences.



This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a vibrant and caring independent school community that values every child's unique potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support all aspects of nursery life, helping to foster a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for children aged 2 to 4 years.

Key Responsibilities



Observe and monitor key children's development across all areas of learning Support the EYFS teacher in the day-to-day running of the classroom Work with individual pupils and small groups to support their learning and development Prepare classroom resources and assist in lesson planning when required Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children at all times, adhering to safeguarding policies Actively engage in nursery life, including events, trips, and activities Participate in the wider extra-curricular programme of the nursery Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and professionals regarding key child's progress Attend to children's physical and emotional wellbeing, including feeding, changing, and activity supervision

Person Specification



A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude Excellent communication and interpersonal skills A genuine passion for working with young children A strong commitment to the ethos and values of Vita et Pax Preparatory School A reliable, adaptable, and flexible team player A relevant Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education (or equivalent) Previous experience working in an EYFS setting is highly desirable
