We are currently recruiting for:

HLTA or a Early Career's Teacher



One of our nurturing and inclusive primary school in Skelmersdale, is seeking a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or Early Career's Teacher to support in EYFS. The position will require the successful candidate to work primarily as a TA most days, however, there would be necessity for the candidate to lead the class on at least one afternoon a week. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced HLTA to play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, ensuring every child thrives.

Location: Skelmersdale


Start Date: February 2026 (Maternity Cover)


Hours: Full Time (Monday - Friday) 08.30am - 3.30pm


Year: EYFS Nursery


Pay: 97.61 - 108.54 per day

Role & Responsibilities

:

Deliver engaging lessons during PPA cover, following pre-planned activities and adapting teaching to meet pupil needs. Provide targeted support in EYFS, working with small groups and individuals to reinforce learning. Assist in planning, preparing, and adapting resources to support high-quality teaching. Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Support behaviour management and encourage pupil engagement in all areas of the curriculum. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

:

HLTA qualification (or equivalent) and experience delivering lessons. Confidence in leading whole-class sessions and supporting teaching across different subjects. A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills. A passion for nurturing children's learning, confidence, and independence.
