The Pointer School is an Independent Christian Prep school in Blackheath, Southeast London. We are seeking an inspirational, dedicated, and passionate teacher to join our thriving school.
This role will be based in our Nursery nurture class - initially around 4-6 pupils, expanding to around 12 pupils in the Summer term. The children will all be in their first term in a formal school setting, having just turned three in the weeks preceding their start date, so experience working with children in the EYFS is essential. The successful candidate will be able to successfully support young children and their families settling into the school setting. As a non-selective school, we are looking for teachers who are willing to be flexible and adapt to the needs of all learners in the class. The teacher will be expected to plan engaging learning activities to enable pupils to learn the routines of school, feel secure and supported in the setting, and make excellent progress in all areas of the EYFS curriculum. Candidates must have a teaching qualification, though the position is suitable for an experienced teacher or a dynamic ECT with experience of the Early Years. We have a strong family atmosphere and the successful teacher will become a key part of the continuation of this, supporting in the co-curricular life of the school and attending school events.
This position is from January 2026 and is on a fixed-term basis, finishing in July 2026.
