We are at the forefront of the UK's retrofit revolution, supplying certified insulation systems that meet the highest standards for quality and performance. With a robust and expanding portfolio of BBA, Irish and European-certified systems, we serve a diverse range of clients including private asset owners, contractors, and social housing providers. Our rapid growth across all sectors is fuelled by a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and technical excellence.
About the Role
EWI Pro is seeking an experienced and motivated Facade Design Engineer to join our growing technical team. Based in our Buckinghamshire office (Aylesbury), you will lead on the design and engineering of cutting-edge External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems, facades, and cladding solutions. This role goes beyond conventional detailing, with a real focus on customer care. In addition, it is also about shaping sustainable, compliant, and technically robust building envelopes that define the future of retrofit & new-build facades in the UK.
What You'll Be Doing
Leading and producing design solutions for EWI, cladding, and facade systems aligned with UK regulations and best practice.
Creating and coordinating technical facade drawings, CAD/REVIT models and detailed specifications.
Collaborating with architects, engineers, clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality facade outcomes on time.
Advising on structural and thermal performance, fire compliance, fixing methodology, and weatherproofing principles.
Conducting U-value calculations, condensation risk analysis, and supporting warranty & certification processes.
Taking technical calls from clients - new and existing - to best answer day-to-day questions.
Mentoring junior members of the specification team where appropriate.
Supporting commercial colleagues with bids and tenders by providing the necessary facade expertise.
Problem solving on a daily basis as clients come up with design and practical EWI challenges.
What We're Looking For
3-5+ years' experience in facade engineering, architectural technology or EWI/cladding system design
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and thermal/structural analysis software
Solid knowledge of EWI systems, cladding assemblies, weatherproofing, fixings, insulation types and building envelope performance
Understanding of facade physics, building science and UK regulatory frameworks (fire, thermal, acoustic, structural + effects with all elements)
Experience working across all stages of facade development: from concept through to installation and aftercare
Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex technical details to clients and stakeholders
Detail-oriented, proactive and solution-driven mindset
Degree in Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology or similar
Desirable
Membership or working towards membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. Society of Facade Engineers, CIOB, IStructE, IAST)
Experience designing to British Standards and Eurocodes
Familiarity with LGSF EWI, SFS + EWI, rendered & brick slip finishes or similar systems.
BIM and 3D facade modelling capability
Awareness of IAST (Institute for Architectural Science & Technology) qualifications or CPD programmes in facade design.
What We Offer
Competitive salary, tailored to experience
Private medical insurance
Enhanced pension contributions for senior team members
Opportunities to engage in CPD, training, and R&D activity
A collaborative and supportive environment where innovation is valued
Office-based, full-time role in Bucks office with some onsite intervention with clients as and when required.
