The Role
Working as Fabric Operative, you'll carry out general building work operations on a range of assets owned by the MOD, throughout the Northwest region.
Your duties will include:
Undertake routine repairs or minor works including joinery, painting and decoration, general building works, ground works or general plumbing.
Deliver Scheduled, Reactive and Remedial maintenance services as directed by the RFCA office team, ensuring that operational standards are always maintained.
Complete suitable risk assessments prior to undertaking works and undertake works as per instructions within any relevant permit or work plan.
This role will also include other operative tasks such as basic fabric, electrical and general operative tasks.
Assisting Maintenance Engineers in electrical and mechanical maintenance where required
Our Requirements
Due to the nature of the works, this role is subject to BPSS security clearance which includes a Basic DBS Check. You will also be required to be on a call out rota 1 out of every 5 weeks.
You will also have:
Experience within a similar maintenance role
Minimum Level 2 NVQ qualification in a relevant building discipline
CSCS Card
Formal apprenticeship or craft trained equivalent
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage time and workload effectively
Enthusiasm and be a self-starter
A full UK manual driving licence
The Package
Salary up to 42,500 depending on experience
Working Monday-Friday 8am - 4:30pm (site & job specific)
Door to Door Travel paid at normal time
