Here at Fabritec, we are looking for a talented metal fabricator & Press Brake Operator to build high-quality metal components for our clients. As a metal fabricator, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by accurately bending and shaping sheet metal components. You will be responsible for reading and interpreting engineering blueprints, fabricating metal components or structures, and performing quality checks on finished products. You will also be required to set up fabricating machines and equipment.

To ensure success as a metal fabricator, you should have advanced knowledge of industrial metalwork, a good eye for detail, and excellent mathematical skills. Ultimately, a top-class metal fabricator expertly constructs high-quality products to exact specifications.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate machines including the press brake machine to bend, form, and shape sheet metal according to specifications Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to determine the correct dimensions and angles for bending Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines Load and unload materials onto the machines Fabricating and constructing metal components. Grinding and finishing completed products. Performing quality checks on completed products. Conforming with safety regulations. Maintain a clean and organized work area Completing job reports.

Requirements & Skills

Previous work experience as a Metal Fabricator Relevant training and/or certifications as a Fabricator Proficiency in operating heavy machinery specifically the Amada Press Brake Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting machine issues Proficiency with metal fabrication hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints. Strong mathematical skills for measuring and calculating dimensions Excellent eyesight and colour vision Good dexterity Attention to detail Good organizational skills Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects as well as stand for long periods of time
