Fabricator/Welder

Location: Our HQ is in Amble, Northumberland

Hours: Fulltime - 40 hours, per week

Salary: From 16 per hour

GV Engineering offer a wide variety of engineering services which include the manufacture and supply of one-off bespoke items to the creation of multiple consumable parts.

The Fabricator Welder is a skilled position that will operate in line with the requirements of both on and off-site work including Fabrication and Welding on all products and parts.

Due to an increase in workload and steady growth within the business, a position for an experienced and skilful, time served Fabricator Welder has become available.

Purpose of the role

:

To carry out all welding operations and fabricate as required

Grinding and polishing of work

Fabricating from drawings

Welding a range of materials from thin gauge up to much larger thicknesses

Maintaining a safe and tidy workplace and reporting any faults/hazards, in accordance with Company Health and Safety requirement

Skills and Experience

:

Formal training (apprenticeship) in Fabrication and Welding. With accompanying qualifications, NVQ or equivalent

TIG, MIG & MMA welding capabilities

The ability to work from drawings

Capability to problem solve and resolve associated issues

Experience in using guillotine, bender, plasma cutter, burning gear or willing to learn

HSE course(s) and/or job specific experience is essential

Engineering knowledge and experience

Significant experience in a Fabrication and Welding biased environment

Knowledge of manufacturing, mechanical, production, transport, conveyors, gears and drives, gearboxes and like equipment

Good understanding of Fabrication and Welding components in multiple areas of business

Time served Fabricator Welder

Have experience in working with a wide range of materials

Be able to measure and cut materials accurately
