We have a fantastic opportunity for a Fabricator/Welder to join the team based on-site at Dalton, Thirsk. We have days & nights positions available:


Days -Monday- Thursday 06:30 - 16:30 & Friday 06:30 - 12:30 Nights- Monday-Thursday 19:10 - 06:40

Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.



The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the

in their highly complex market!

Vacancy Details

We are looking for an experienced

Fabricator / Welder

to join our team and play a key role in delivering high-quality structural steelwork. This is a hands-on position in a busy, dynamic environment where precision, safety, and efficiency are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and welding procedure data sheets. Plan welding sequences and deliver high-quality MIG welds, including single and multi-run fillet welds, as well as partial and full penetration butt welds. Set out complex fabrications, tack weld components into position, and profile components using Oxy/Propane cutting equipment to specified tolerances. Inspect and identify welds using operator ID codes, carrying out repairs when required, while meeting tight production deadlines. Safely use pre- and post-heating equipment and operate overhead cranes to lift, turn, and move heavy loads. Maintain accurate records and report any adverse actions, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Required Experience & Skills:

Extensive experience in structural steelwork fabrication and welding. Skilled in working to recognised fabrication standards with a high level of precision and attention to detail. Strong understanding and commitment to health and safety practices. Proficient in operating heating equipment, overhead cranes, and Oxy/Propane cutting tools. NVQ level 3 in Fabrication and Welding or equivalent experience Relevant welding qualifications or coding
