We are looking for a proactive, flexible and reliable Facade Engineer to join our Team. Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role, and will possess a recognised engineering or architectural qualification.


Working across a variety of projects both autonomously and as part of a wider team, tasks you will be required to undertake as part of your role include (but are not limited to):

Provide continuous high quality facade engineering services to our customers, including but not limited to: + - Develop Fire Risk Appraisal Reports to PAS 9980
- Prepare assessment reports for new and existing external wall systems
- Provide advisory support and carry out site visits
- Prepare other technical engineering analysis for alternative design and installation methods related the facade fire safety design etc
- Third party reviews and design verification
- Develop facade strategies, design and associated mark-ups for various buildings and infrastructure projects
Have a clear understanding of fire safety issues and provide well supported fire engineered solutions through the selection of appropriate methods and tools Be familiar with relevant legislation and design guidance such as Approved Document B (ADB), BS 9999, BS 9991, BB100, HTM documents, and BS 7974 etc. Be familiar with relevant legislation and standards related the external wall systems such as PAS 9980, BS 8414, BR135, BS 8579, BS EN 13501-1 etc. Be familiar with the different fire stopping systems and cavity barriers, including their design specifications and installation requirements. Help identify new work opportunities with clients and other professionals, engage actively with potential clients and prepare / review fee proposal letters and tenders Support management of projects and be responsible for the associated invoicing Ensure that records are maintained to determine that the company's Quality Procedures, service levels and contractual requirements are being met Maintain and manage strong client relationships and identify business development opportunities Contribute to the development of the company so as to enhance its reputation by attending or organising conferences, panels, seminars, CPD sessions

A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (facade, fire, mechanical, structural, civil or similar field) At least two years' experience in fire/ facade safety engineering To be extremely passionate about fire safety and facade engineering Confident communicator, good customer service skills Self-motivated, able to prioritise and work on own initiative, as well as following instructions and working as part of a team Numerate, and organised with attention to detail Professional appearance and behavior Flexible and adaptable to meet customer needs and changing priorities Reliable, punctual, honest and trustworthy

Desirable:


ABBE Level 6 Award in External Wall System Assessment Experience in testing external wall systems Excellent computer skills, particularly with regards to Microsoft Word / Outlook and Bluebeam
