Description



The role of the Facilities Apprentice is to assist the Facilities Manager with the day-to-day activities on the campus. An integral part of the role is to ensure that Facilities on the campus are running efficiently.

Administrative duties where required including desk numbering and allocation, setting up Facilities for new members of staff and training on Sysaid for onboarding and offboarding. Working as a link between reception and the Facilities manager Liaising with delivery personnel to ensure all deliveries are collected, recorded and placed securely. Furniture moving and assembling. Coordination of the campus events including liaising with cleaners in relation to events Ordering groceries and stationery for the GEDU campus Preparing desks for staff who are new joiners, prepare classrooms after previous sessions. Conducting basic handyperson services such as fixing classroom/staff room equipment's and other DIY tasks such as painting, locks replacement/repairs, white board and soft board installation along with blind etc. Handling heavy loads in a safe manner (manual handling training will be provided). Monitoring stock levels of office equipment and furniture and replenishing as required. Store management - Monitoring stock levels and ordering consumables for storerooms like cleaning and refreshment. Acting as front of house and greet students, visitors, and staff in a professional manner. Acting as first aider and fire warden. Assisting the facilities manager with any ad-hoc duties.

Entry requirements

Ability to interact with employees, contractors, consultants, visitors, and management as well as local police and fire authorities. Excellent communication skills. Skill in performing building security and lock procedures. Excellent awareness skills. Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures. Experience of undertaking and conducting handyperson services such as furniture assembly and other DIY tasks such as fixing items to a wall securely, painting etc. Ability to lift heavy loads in a safe manner (manual handling training can be provided). Available to work a varied shift pattern, including evenings and weekends.
