Loxley Colour are seeking a skilled and reliable Facilities assistant / Handy person to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of maintenance and repair skills, capable of addressing various tasks around commercial properties. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, painting, gardening and general repairs.
Conduct repairs on fixtures, fittings, and appliances as needed.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from management.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Assist with installations of various systems and equipment.
Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Assist with Production facility improvements, as and when required.
Ensure all plant and machinery are kept in a safe, good working order and excellent housekeeping standards are maintained. Working within a continuous improvement 3S environment and having a real input into making sure our work areas and stores are kept in a well organised, tidy manner.
Where possible, suggest ways of improving methods and processes.
All works carried out with Health & Safety at the forefront of planning.
Skills
Proficient in basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritise tasks effectively.
Familiarity with Health and safety regulations.
A valid driving licence is preferred.
Forklift Licence is preferred but not essential.
Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not essential; willingness to learn is key.
