Based in central London, Big Sky comprises 15 studios and stages, spanning 75,000 sq ft over 5 different sites, offering traditional white coves, green screens, blank canvases, virtual production suites with green screen and LED walls, alongside a unique rooftop studio with undisturbed London Skyline views. To enable our spaces, we offer in-house services of lighting, digital, catering, set-building and post-production, alongside a full-service ecom and social content agency.

ROLE OVERVIEW



We're looking for a proactive and skilled Facilities & Building Maintenance Technician to keep our spaces running smoothly and looking their best. In this hands-on role, you'll be the go-to person for day-to-day upkeep, tackling everything from small repairs and routine maintenance to light improvement projects. You'll play a key part in ensuring our buildings and premises are safe, functional, and welcoming for everyone who uses them.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



- Carry out a variety of minor building repairs, including patching walls, repainting surfaces, and fixing door hinges or handles to maintain a high standard of presentation.

- Perform basic plumbing tasks, such as clearing drains, replacing washers, repairing leaks, and ensuring restrooms remain fully functional.

- Handle simple electrical work (non-certified), including replacing light bulbs, switches, and outlets to keep systems operational.

- Assemble, repair, and maintain furniture, shelving, signage, and office fittings, ensuring workspaces remain safe and practical.

- Proactively complete DIY maintenance tasks to prevent small issues from escalating into costly repairs.

- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and resolve minor defects early, maintaining a safe and efficient environment.

- Assist in the upkeep of shared spaces, including painting, cleaning, and touch-ups to keep communal areas welcoming.

- Maintain tools and supplies, reporting when materials need replenishment to ensure smooth operations.

- Support external contractors during specialised or large-scale repairs, ensuring compliance with company standards.

- Adhere to all safety protocols and building maintenance policies, promoting a safe and compliant workplace.

SKILLS



- Hands-on experience in basic building maintenance, repairs, or facilities support.

- Good working knowledge of small-scale plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting work.

- Ability to perform practical DIY repairs independently.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.

- Able to safely lift, move, and handle equipment and materials as part of the role.
