Job Description

The Job Purpose



Reporting to the Engineering management team, the role involves working closely with key stakeholders to ensure the upkeep of all non-manufacturing equipment and assets, inclusive of the building and grounds.

This role involves liaising with contractors for scheduled servicing and reactive tasks in a timely fashion and to a high standard of work. The role will also involve supporting production teams with Kaizen activities in helping to improve efficiencies throughout the site.

Other duties will include creating and monitoring systems that detect problems in advance; designing a schedule for cleaning and repairing buildings and non-manufacturing equipment.

Promote and support the company safety and quality standards, focussing on continuous improvement whilst contributing to the company's hoshin and SDG strategy, and demonstrating the company values and behaviours.

Key Areas of Responsibility



Maintain and appropriate and comfortable working environment for all members

Control all facilities maintenance tasks in-line with FMUK compliance register

Complete regular site walk-rounds and assessments of asset condition (go-look-see approach)

Support PPM and TPM in-line with maintenance department requests

Liaise with Health and Safety advisor as and when required ensuring the health and safety of yourself and those around you

External contractor management through development and maintenance of a contractor induction system

Manage on-site facilities maintenance request system ensuring all requests are reviewed and actioned efficiently

Supporting new equipment installations

Basic plumbing tasks

Basic electrical work

Basic groundworks and mechanical work

General painting and decorating tasks

Roof guttering inspection and repairs

PAT equipment testing and register upkeep

Meeting attendance and feedback

Basic fabrication work in-line with FMUK kaizen activities

Raising of purchase requisitions and capital expenditure requests in-line with annual budget

The Person



Formal qualification in engineering or related discipline preferable (eg mechanical/electrical engineering, plumbing, heating, buildings maintenance etc) Basic electrical qualification Demonstrable experience in a similar role Working at height and MEWP certified preferred IOSH qualified preferred FLT license preferred Strong written and verbal communication Ability to analyse and challenge areas for improvement Able to manage time and workload effectively Familiar with a fast-paced, Just-In-Time environment Experience in general electrical, plumbing and mechanical disciplines Has a track record of good attendance and timekeeping Experience with fabrication of basic structures Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision Experience in budget control
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 26,000.00-31,000.00 per year
