WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR


Position Responsibilities




Liaison with RWM as part of technology transfer. This will involve spending periods of time in Germany understanding manufacturing processes. Coordinating a multi-disciplined project team through a structured, integrated, and safety-focused investment lifecycle. Validating the business requirements and determining effective and efficient investment proposals. Compiling and reviewing outline and detailed requirement specifications for the development and delivery of RDUK's future Manufacturing Capability (Plant and Equipment). Producing and presenting business cases for investment approval process. Investigating the external market place, in conjunction with procurement, and lead supplier selection activity. Managing the introduction of new systems and technologies across a range of manufacturing and assembly processes. This includes ensuring solutions comply with all legislative requirements. Following internal Project Management Lifecycle processes, managing costs, milestones, and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place. Understanding, promoting, and demonstrating safety procedures and safe systems of work. Providing lineside manufacturing support to the Production Delivery Teams to ensure facilities are available as required. Lead Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities with minimal disruption to production. Supporting the Procurement team in: + Engaging with the external marketplace and lead supplier selection activities.
+ Be the technical lead on supplier down-selection activities, ensuring proposals are compliant with technical requirements.
+ Conducting capacity analyses, identifying key constraints, and recommending action to reduce risk within the supply chain.
Managing activities to meet financial constraints to achieve the agreed manufacturing capability. Managing the chosen prime Supplier/Contractor through the delivery lifecycle. This shall include installation, commissioning, and acceptance of new facilities and systems. Managing the production handover of new and refurbished facilities on behalf of the operational customer. Ensuring internal governance and adherence to regulations, legislation, and CDM. Developing strong working relationships across all company functions. Coordinating the project reporting/management toolsets as set out within the appropriate governance framework for schedule, cost, opportunities, risk and scope. Organising and chairing multi-functional project and team reviews part of a robust stakeholder management approach. This will ensure project information is communicated, tasks are appointed and tracked, risks/issues are raised, and progress is monitored. Operating with a high degree of autonomy to prevent and resolve issues, applying problem solving techniques to complex situations. Supporting the project manager by providing input into project reports. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE


Essential:




A recognised Engineering qualification/engineering apprenticeship or suitable engineering qualifications in a manufacturing/maintenance discipline equivalent to HNC or higher. Professional knowledge of relevant engineering standards/regulations, including Construction, Design and Management (CDM) regulations, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, and Safety Health and Environment legislation. Demonstrated experience working as a facilities engineer in a manufacturing environment. Security cleared or the ability to attain and maintain a UK security clearance up to SC level. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Word and Excel. Knowledge of CAD-Programs like VISTABLE, AUTO-CAD, etc.



Desired:




IOSH Managing Safety qualification. Experience in defining and managing Key Performance Indicators. Excellent communication, negotiation, and diplomacy skills Ability to balance priorities across manufacturing in support of business and customer requirements. WHAT WE OFFER YOU


Position Purpose





Rheinmetall Weapons and Munitions (RWM) have taken the decision to make a significant investment in a Gun Manufacturing assembly plant in the UK. This facility will develop a manufacturing capability to deliver artillery and tank guns.



The role of Facilities Engineer reports directly to the Manufacturing Project Manager, and will:


Work with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure new facilities are delivered/maintained in accordance with the appropriate governance, legalisation, and regulations. Be responsible for developing, specifying, and testing new and existing facilities/systems to ensure the Manufacturing Operations capability is aligned with the Company products and strategies. Ensure RDUK is equipped to manage future business demands and changes.

Within this role the facilities engineer will liaise closely with RWM in Germany and RBSL in Telford, where this role is based. Travel is therefore required within the UK and Europe.



This is a challenging role, requiring a self-motivated, driven individual with the ability to adapt and perform within a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment. The individual must be capable of managing projects, reporting on key deliverables, and liaising with multiple stakeholders.
