Main Responsibilities

As a valued member of the Operose Health team, your key duties will include:



External H&S Audit Management: Coordinate and manage the external Health and Safety audit contractor, ensuring audits are completed on time, with accurate and actionable reporting. Undertake risk assessments under the guidance of the Head of Facilities, Health and Safety, including Fire Risk Assessments, Legionella Risk Assessments, and general Health and Safety Risk Assessments. Review risk assessments to identify next steps and remedial actions, creating and managing action plans to resolve identified issues and improve safety practices across the estate. Collaborate with the facilities team to support the management, maintenance, and improvement of compliance across all locations within the Operose Health Estate, ensuring all statutory requirements are adhered to. Provide general facilities, health, and safety administrative support, ensuring effective record-keeping, reporting, and coordination of activities. Assist in coordinating the health and safety champion programme and workshops for staff as needed. Support the management of health and safety incidents, accidents, or near misses, ensuring thorough documentation, investigation, and corrective actions as required. Maintain and review H&S documentation, ensuring that it is up to date, in compliance with legislation, and accessible for audit purposes.

The Ideal Candidate

What we look for in new colleagues:



Proven experience in facilities management or health and safety coordination, preferably within the healthcare or similar regulated environment. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including risk assessments, fire safety, legionella control, and other relevant statutory compliance requirements. Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail in reviewing risk assessments, action plans, and audit reports. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with external contractors. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other software tools for tracking and reporting.
