Role
Oversee and carry out the reactive and planned maintenance programs at our Groups offices and warehouse facilities.
Responsibilities
Carry out Weekly and Monthly PPM's these include Legionella tap temp testing, Emergency lighting, and Monthly fire equipment inspection at multiple sites.
Assist Facilities Director on any new contracts or contract renewals.
Oversee the buildings environmental management, Inc waste disposal, pest control, cleaning and washroom Services.
Main contact for onsite contractors.
Out of hours Security & fire alarm service provider contact point.
Conduct weekly fire alarm tests in conjunction with the buildings service schedule.
Ensure buildings surrounds are kept neat and tidy.
Manage any dilapidations of the buildings.
Ensure sub - contractors comply with Health & Safety regulations whilst on site.
Help supervising cleaning staff.
Carrying out day-to-day maintenance and minor repairs.
Assist in choosing and booking outside contractors for major repair works/projects.
Oversee sub - contractors when on site carrying out any agreed works.
Checking daily that heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly.
Making sure that doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use.
Checking the premises to guard against vandalism or break-ins.
Ensuring fire escapes are maintained and free from obstructions.
Work with other group departments on projects to help develop solutions.
Competences
Well organised and self-motivated
Proactive and able to demonstrate a flexible approach to working, as some out of hours and weekend work may be required on special projects
Have excellent verbal communication skills
Communicate effectively both internally and with a wide range of external contractors
Good practical DIY maintenance skills in painting, joinery & plumbing
Competent in using Microsoft office packages, Word & Excel
Good Understanding of current Health and Safety, and Environmental legislation
The ability to use your own initiative and problem solving
To be thorough and pay attention to detail
The ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines
Ambition and a desire to succeed
Experience
Minimum of 1 year experience in facilities administration of contracts, repairs and renewals
Desirable
IPAF Certification
ISOH Certification
Essential
Must have a full UK driver's licence (3 Points Max)
