Job Description

Quartztec Europe, based in East Kilbride, Scotland are a manufacturer of fabricated quartz glass products and thermocouples for the Semiconductor Industry.

The company has been in operation for over 35 years and are a key supplier into the lucrative Semiconductor Industry. The Quartzware and Thermocouples we manufacture are a key consumable used within equipment, which produces silicon chips and sensors that we use in everyday life.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE



Within our facility based in East Kilbride, we are looking to recruit a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer to add to our growing team. We wish to appoint a fully qualified engineer who can multitask within a maintenance environment. The candidate will report to the Maintenance Engineering Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



Prioritise the maintenance activities whether breakdowns or corrective.

All internal and external maintenance.

Direct and support resources to respond to breakdowns effectively.

Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance tasks.

Carry out tasks as identified on maintenance / improvement requests.

Ensure all maintenance activities are recorded accurately.

Ensure all plant equipment that is planned for TPM is made available, where practical.

Update annual maintenance plan.

Maintain spare part stores and ensure all expenditure is recorded.

Identify whether specialist help is required to support a task.

Liaise with external suppliers to complete tasks as required.

Maintain library of manuals and drawings.

Take direction from Maintenance Engineering Manager.

Respond immediately to concerns raised by team members.

Escalate serious concerns on plant breakdowns to the Maintenance Manager immediately.

Health, safety and environmental awareness and following the HSE procedures and policies.

Oversee all planned sub-contract services carried out on plant & equipment.

This list is not exhaustive and the post holder will be expected to undertake duties as specified by their manager.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS



Flexibility for business requirements.

Knowledge of building services, electrical, plumbing and building repair.

Ability to work on equipment to fault find and correct problems.

Ability to know when to call out specialist/contractor for help as and when required.

Qualification in electrical or mechanical discipline.

18th Edition regulations desirable but not essential.

The ideal candidate should be self-motivated with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.

A recognised time-served apprenticeship. Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

PACKAGE



Salary, starting 35-38K 5 -day working week, 37.5hrs. Monday to Friday 35 days paid holiday. Company performance bonus scheme, potentially paid out twice per year. Company Pension scheme On site parking Electric Car Scheme Cycle to Work Scheme
