My Client is looking for Facilities Maintenance Officer
to join their team and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of building maintenance. You will be the first point of contact for facilities management requests so experience of low level plumbing, electrical and decorating is required.
About the Role:
As a
Facilities Maintenance Office
r, you will be responsible for:
Conducting preventative and reactive maintenance, including minor repairs, plumbing, and caretaking activities across designated sites.
Ensuring operational performance and safety of the building at all times, working closely with subcontractors and specialist engineers.
Performing tasks such as unblocking sinks, cleaning and replacing light fittings, and maintaining roof and balcony areas.
Assisting with minor installation works and handyman duties, such as painting, decorating, and joinery.
Supporting the Facilities Management team by maintaining accurate health and safety records, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Providing a customer-focused service to staff, students, and visitors while ensuring all site operations run smoothly.
Monitoring stock levels and assisting with the coordination of specialist contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out minor repairs and general caretaking activities.
Perform regular inspections and ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out to a high standard.
Provide assistance with furniture moves and porterage tasks.
Ensure compliance with statutory health and safety regulations.
Act as a liaison between building users, contractors, and the Site Manager to ensure the smooth running of the facility.
Participate in an emergency call-out service as required.
About You:
We are looking for someone who:
Has relevant experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a similar role.
Is proactive and customer-focused, with strong problem-solving skills.
Possesses knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and general handyman tasks.
Has experience working in a multi-site role and is flexible with working hours when required.
Demonstrates a strong commitment to health and safety practices and maintaining compliance with regulations.
Is comfortable managing contractors and external service providers.
