Bidwells are looking for a Facilities Manager to join our highly regarded Investment Property Management team for a 9-12 month Fixed Term Contract, assisting with the management of the world-renowned Cambridge Science Park.

Bidwells\xe2\x80\x99 IPM team manages commercial properties worth in excess of \xc2\xa31.5 billion. We act on behalf of a range of clients including Cambridge Colleges, Institutions, Property Companies and Family trusts and manage diverse portfolios from science and business parks to city centre retail spaces.

Cambridge Science Park is a science and technology research centre linked to the University of Cambridge. It was founded in 1970, which makes it the oldest science park in the UK. This innovative institute has played a crucial role in what\xe2\x80\x99s known as the \xe2\x80\x98Cambridge Phenomenon\xe2\x80\x99.

Currently, the Park is home to 170 businesses ranging from spin-outs from the University of Cambridge to multinational companies. These Cambridge Science Park companies employ talented graduates and entrepreneurs to work on cutting-edge technologies in the fields of science, medicine and artificial intelligence.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be doing:

As a Facilities Manager you will have responsibility for working with management and delivery of services across Cambridge Science Park; working closely with the onsite Facilities Manager as well as the Property Managers and Asset Managers as part of our wider Fund Management team.

You will have responsibility for supporting our client and tenants by managing contractors, overseeing small works, undertaking health & safety monitoring and statutory compliance and supporting with financial management.

You will also:

  • Ensure buildings and the Parkland is managed as efficiently and sustainably as possible, aiming to minimise energy & water usage and waste
  • Gain and maintain knowledge and understanding of all building and estate activities on Cambridge Science Park
  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout the park, involving timely communication with tenants and internal teams on facilities matters, working closely with the property/ asset manager and Park Director to improve customer experience
  • Assist in setting up regular meetings with occupiers at multi- let assets and help with any moves in or out of premises\xe2\x80\x99.
  • Schedule and booking of inspections ensuring all procedures are followed
  • Dealing with health and safety matters and managing risks using a risk monitoring database
About you:
  • Great stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Relevant Facilities Management experience
  • Experience of contract administration and tendering
  • Experience in the management of H&S and other compliance-related activities
  • Direct management/supervision experience of staff/suppliers and third party contractors
  • Confident working with IT, including good working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Experience of service charge budgeting/accounting and a working understanding of commercial leases would be desirable but not essential
