We are currently looking for a hands-on person to join our facilities team in our multi-site manufacturing/warehousing/office company in the Manchester area. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with either a building maintenance, care taking or manufacturing facilities background. Principal Accountabilities of the role:
To provide on-site service for the maintenance, upgrade and repair of a mixture of manufacturing, warehousing and office building.
Other aspects of the role include plumbing repairs and testing of fire pumps, sprinkler systems routinely, including Fire Alarm testing.
Monthly and weekly Test checks will also include site auditing and inspections, and the carrying out daily, weekly and monthly health and safety checks.
Corrective action where required on all appliances including the reporting of problems and/or unsafe practices.
Ensure full and timely reporting of all significant problems or repair requirements.
Undertake dynamic risk assessments, assisting with all equipment installations when required.
Key skills & experience required for the role:
Apprenticeship or time-served in a relevant facilities qualification would be advantageous.
BASIC plumbing / Joinery / Electrical skills.
Understanding of Health and Safety Principles and legislation.
Ability to complete risk assessments.
IPAF licence an advantage.
Computer Literate.
Self-motivated.
Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative.
Ability to find faults and problem solve.
Good communication skills essential.
Willing to be flexible in terms of working hours.
Availability for overtime.
Driving licence and own transport is essential.
