Position Overview:
As the Facilities Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our facilities, managing maintenance staff, and ensuring that our work environment is safe, efficient, and conducive to productivity. Currently this is 3 sites, and you will be expected to work across two of the sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and extensive knowledge of facilities management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all facilities-related activities, including maintenance, repairs, fire alarm testing etc.
Lead, train, and mentor the facilities team, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of building systems.
Collaborate with external contractors and vendors for specialized projects and maintenance needs.
Manage facility budgets, monitor expenses, and recommend cost-effective solutions.
Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Coordinate emergency response and safety drills to ensure preparedness for any incidents.
Maintain effective communication with all departments to ensure that facility needs are met.
Prepare reports on facilities performance, maintenance activities, and budget forecasts for management review.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities management or a related role, including experience in a leadership capacity.
Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and safety regulations. Electrical qualifications desirable.
Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Proficiency in basic office applications.
Class 1 driving licence desirable.
Forklift truck training desirable
