ROLE SUMMARY





The Facility Services and HSSC Director for Pinewood Studios Group is a key senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility services and projects, health and safety, security, fire compliance, and operational improvement projects across the UK studio estates (namely Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire and Shepperton Studios in Surrey).



In this role you will report to the CEO of the Group, sit on the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and lead a large and diverse team (80+ employees) to ensure the operating environment at the studio supports world-class film and television production, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.


PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES




Develop and implement robust facility services, projects and HSSC strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with UK legislation and industry best practice. Develop and maintain studio sites which delight our customers, whilst maintaining an ethos of continuous improvement. Provide oversight and leadership to the Projects and Minor Works team to enable them to deliver a program of lifecycle, construction, and refurbishment projects across Pinewood and Shepperton Studios, on time and on budget. Offer strategic direction and governance to teams of subject matter experts in health and safety, fire safety, security, and environmental compliance. Lead a large facility services and trades team to ensure all facilities are repaired and maintained to a high standard, supporting production needs and client satisfaction. Develop and manage departmental budgets, resources, and performance metrics to deliver value for the group. Build strong working relationships with your internal and external functional colleagues and client facing teams to ensure the effective delivery of services across the studios. Represent the studios with external agencies including the Health and Safety Executive, local authorities, insurers, customers and other third parties. Provide clear direction, communication and engaging leadership for multi-disciplinary teams amounting to c80 employees. Foster a culture of safety, sustainability, and operational excellence across the studios. As a member of the SLT, the role will also contribute to other group projects and initiatives and may be allocated group-wide responsibilities from time-to-time.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE




ESSENTIAL CRITERIA




Degree-level education or equivalent work experience. Substantial previous senior facilities or HSSC experience in either the film, television, media, facilities management or other equivalent customer-facing large scale/complex operations. Substantial previous experience in leading and developing large and diverse teams across complex facilities with multiple stakeholders. Track record of defining and implementing process/people changes to step-change performance. Background in managing complex operational environments Knowledge and evidence of budgeting and performance contract management. Knowledge of incident management. Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work. Engaging leader who sets clear standards, motivates and drives performance through their teams Ability to find practical solutions, think creatively and overcome obstacles. Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Adept at dealing with demanding client situations and challenging conversations. Ability to plan effectively in dynamic environments to deliver complex programmes of work. Values driven personally and professionally. This is a site-based role, with limited opportunity to work-from-home Ability to be on-call as required to ensure the smooth operation of the site and delivery to the customer.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA




Professional memberships / qualifications (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, IOSH/NEBOSH or or other relevant qualifications). Experience working in the film, television and media sectors. Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and environmental compliance.

Role location: Pinewood and Shepperton Studios. Competitive starting salary and discretionary annual bonus. 25 days' holiday as standard with the option to buy 5 additional days, plus English public holidays.
