Job Description

Purpose




To ensure that the manufacturing of Steelite International product is managed according to the business requirements.


Note: In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Principal Accountabilities



Ensure production output aligns with business requirements, supporting customer demand and sales plans. Work collaboratively with Customer Service, Planning, and Manufacturing teams to create achievable production schedules and optimise resource utilisation. Maintain and uphold quality standards, actively supporting the Quality Management System and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in the New Product Development (NPD) process, ensuring operational feasibility, cost impact, and resource requirements are understood and planned for. Support adherence to agreed NPD processes within the factory. Champion customer focus within the manufacturing environment, ensuring the factory reflects positively to visiting customers and supports the company's commercial objectives. Monitor and drive yield performance, ensuring production managers understand targets and implement changes that support ongoing improvements in efficiency and waste reduction. Deliver production targets through clear communication of objectives and expectations to all team members, ensuring focus and accountability at all levels. Actively contribute to the wider Operations Team, supporting cross-functional understanding and collaboration to address production challenges and opportunities. Implement a robust people plan, developing current talent, addressing skills gaps, supporting succession planning, and promoting a culture of high performance and engagement. Communicate operational data and performance updates to relevant departments, ensuring timely and accurate information is available for business planning and decision-making. Plan and deliver operational strategy within agreed budgets, timelines, and organisational objectives, ensuring that the factory contributes effectively to overall business performance. Support continuous improvement by contributing ideas, feedback, and insight into the development of operational performance and business strategy. Establish and maintain systems to measure and track performance across key operational areas, supporting data-driven decision-making and accountability. Monitor, report, and act on operational performance, highlighting risks, opportunities, and improvement areas in line with agreed formats and review cycles. Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements covering quality, health and safety, environmental standards, and duty of care. * Stay informed of developments in manufacturing and operational best practices, applying relevant insights to improve factory performance and team capability.
