We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role is essential in supporting the kitchen staff with meal preparation, food safety, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace. Previous experience in catering or restaurant settings is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of meals and ingredients, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation Support chefs with cooking tasks as needed, following established recipes and guidelines Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste properly Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to supervisors Participate in the setup and serving of meals during catering events or restaurant service Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods

Qualifications

Previous experience in a kitchen environment, such as catering or restaurant work, is preferred Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills Understanding of food safety practices and regulations Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy setting Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed
