As a Trainee Shoe Maker, you will be integral to the production process, focusing on the assembly of ballet dance footwear. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, your role will require strong organisational skills and a keen attention to detail. Utilising your knowledge and proficiency with hand tools, you will contribute to the efficient operation of the factory. Previous manufacturing experience will be beneficial as you navigate the production environment, although not essential. The responsibility of the job:

Manual assembly of ballet pointe shoes made to the required standard using traditional shoe making methods.
This will include the following:

Reading order tickets Selecting lasts Working with hand tools such as hammers, scissors and brushes Working with adhesives and nails
Required skills/education:

Basic literacy skills Excellent manual/practical skills Organisational skills Previous factory/production/manual labour experience (preferred)*
Pro-active and enthusiastic Good attendance and work ethic Willing to learn You will be required to work in a fast paced environment

39 Working hours:

7.30 am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday (including half an hour lunch break and two 10 minute breaks)

7.30am to 12.30pm Friday. (including a 10 minute break)

National Minimum Wage/ National Living Wage (age dependant) start, and higher earning potential once trained by moving on to piece rate (paid per pair of shoes made).
