Job Description


The Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) Directorate at the Manchester Metropolitan University is seeking to appoint a Faculty RKE Manager to provide support for RKE at a Faculty level. This is a fixed-term, 12-month position.

About You:
This is a key role at Faculty level, giving the successful applicant the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the implementation of the University\'s ambitious RKE strategy.

You should have:

  • Significant knowledge and understanding of the UK and international RKE funding landscape, and RKE governance and compliance requirements.
  • Significant experience of managing and developing a team, preferably in a Higher Education environment.
  • A proven track record of successful change management and the ability to implement and communicate new policies and procedures to a range of audiences.
  • Be able to identify gaps in service and standards and devise creative solutions.
About the Role:
The post-holder will provide leadership and operational management at Faculty level to ensure the development and delivery of an integrated and effective service to support University Centres for Research and Knowledge Exchange (UCRKE) to undertake high quality RKE activities, attract income and create excellent outputs.

You will proactively manage the Faculty based RKE Team and maintain a high standard of service delivery to academic colleagues and other service users.

Ensure compliance with internal and external policies designed to improve the quality of the research environment.

RKE Directorate:
The Directorate is responsible for the management and delivery of the RKE strategy. The University\'s Research and Knowledge Exchange Centres make an impact on the world around us, and we support their research funding and the wider research environment such as impact and public engagement activities, business partnerships and collaborations across the sector and beyond.
