Looking for an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team within the Faculty of Future Technologies and Design? We are seeking a skilled carpentry and joinery technician to work with the School of Construction as part of our technical support team.
In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering an effective and efficient technical support service for the faculty. You'll be responsible for providing technical support in designated areas and ensuring that all necessary resources are available for teaching requirements. This will include performing routine and general maintenance duties, preparing materials, equipment, and machinery for classes, projects, and examinations, and maintaining an adequate stock of consumables. In addition, you will support staff and students to ensure that the learning and teaching environment and related areas meet health and safety legislative requirements.
You will be educated to a minimum of SVQ level 3 in Wood Machining or Carpentry & Joinery or an equivalent relevant qualification or experience. Applicants with equivalent qualifications, apprenticeships, or relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. Relevant work-based qualifications in wood machining and knowledge of health and safety practices are essential. Experience of supporting curriculum delivery or working in a training environment would be advantageous.
