As a Family Assessment Practitioner, you will be essential to providing high-quality care and supporting parents who are 16yr plus and their children 0-7yrs within GCR's Family Assessment Centre. Working under the guidance of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and Assessing Social Worker, you will help maintain a safe, supportive environment where the families can grow and develop. Your role will focus on building positive relationships with parents, supporting their personal and social development, and contributing to a secure, nurturing atmosphere.
Support the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of our parents at Gratia Cura Family Assessment Centre.
Encourage decision making and provide choices by following communication strategies to ensure young parents have a voice.
Build trust with the parents by providing consistent, caring, and respectful interactions, setting an example in behaviour and attitudes.
Assist in planning and participating in activities that promote the parents' social skills, education, and emotional development.
Implement individualised care plans for the best outcomes.
Adhere to risk assessments and placement plans and attend meetings and training sessions.
Support community activities and trips and engage in physical activities and lessons with the parents.
Help the parents with daily routines such as meal preparation, personal care, and support with the parent's babies / child daily routines.
Ensure the safety and well-being of parents and their babies / child and comply with safeguarding policies and procedures.
Get to know the parent well, including their history, strengths and needs.
Follow safety protocols, complete regular safety checks, and report any concerns to maintain a secure environment.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, observations, and any incidents, ensuring they align with regulatory and home standards.
CCTV will be in all flats and communal areas that the families use. Monitors will need to be monitored 24/7 and activity recorded.
Ensure your actions do not risk the health and safety of yourself or others.
Work closely with other support staff, contributing to effective communication and teamwork.
Participate in team meetings and required training to stay informed about best practices and updates in care standards.
Work on a rostered shift system inclusive of evening and weekend work.
Ensure all mandatory training is completed in a timely manner to ensure the safeguarding of the families in our care and meet regulatory Ofsted requirements.
To demonstrate knowledge of Ofsted and the Care Standards Act 2000, Care Standards Act 2000 (Registration)(England) Regulations 2010, the Residential Family Centres Regulations 2002 and the Residential Family Centres: national minimal standards and help keep the home inspection-ready at all times.
