Responsibilities



To lead high quality and inclusive childcare sessions, which provide opportunities for children to play and learn safely through activities which encourage their own interests.

To work with creche staff to ensure adequate ratios and safe practice during creche sessions.

To implement high quality play, learning and childcare experiences for children.

To utilise 'in the moment' planning to support children's learning.

To be aware of and sensitive to the individual needs of children, ensuring each child receives personalised attention and care.

To provide a safe, stimulating and caring environment for children, including the maintenance and cleaning of resources and equipment.

To keep accurate records and produce reports as needed including a daily register and accident records.

To work within Tameside's Safeguarding Children procedures and communicate any concerns relating to children's safety or wellbeing to the Children & Family Services Manager without delay.

To encourage parental involvement and support by developing positive working relationships.

To participate fully in the support and guidance of parents, volunteers and students working within the creche provision.

To work in partnership with other agencies who have a role to play in the provision of services to families.

To promote equality and inclusion in all aspects of service delivery.

To participate in regular supervision as agreed and to undertake appropriate professional training and development.

To carry out any additional tasks identified by the creche coordinator, commensurate with the post.

To work within the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidelines (EYFS) and all LEAP Creche policies and procedures.

To prepare for each creche session by setting up the room appropriately and at the end of each session ensure room is tidy and equipment is stored safely, ready for the next session.

Maintain strict confidentiality related to information held concerning children and their families.

To prepare snacks and drinks for children.

To work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends.

To work within the Child and Family team to plan and implement high quality play, learning and childcare experiences for children.

To keep accurate records and contribute to reports as needed including a daily register and accident records.

To work within Tameside's Safeguarding Children procedures and communicate any concerns relating to children's safety or wellbeing to the Senior Manager, without delay.

To fully support parents, volunteers and students working within the provision.

To carry out any additional tasks identified by the Child & Family Services Manager, commensurate with the post.

To work within the Early Years Foundation Stage Guidelines (EYFS) and all LEAP policies and procedures.

To prepare for each creche session by assisting in the setting up of spaces appropriately and at the end of each session ensure rooms are tidy and equipment is stored safely, ready for the next session.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
