Location: Guildhall, City of London Corporation

About us

At the City of London Corporation, we want to ensure that all our resident children and young people benefit from the advantages of living in the Square Mile. One of the ways we do this is by providing easy access to information on everything from arts and culture to wellbeing and education. An important focus is the FIS Directory - an online resource supplemented by extensive messaging on social media and other channels.

The Role

As our Family Information Officer, you\'ll promote the City of London\'s Family Information Directory and Local Offer through multimedia channels and distribution points in a way that is accessible, meaningful and easy to understand for our children, young people and their support networks. You\'ll develop and manage relationships with local partners and commissioned providers, and assist with marketting, PR and communications for the Education and Early Years Service. A key responsibility will be developing and updating relevant web pages and social media channels and managing stakeholder relationships with parents/carers, service providers, contractors and those who work with children and young people in the Square Mile.

About you

Most likely with a background in marketing and communications for a local authority, you\'ll be an exceptional and creative, communicator, able to gather information and interpret it for the widest possible audience, including people with special needs or disabilities, or people who use English as an additional language. Your experience will include writing for the web and social media, events production and general marketing. A good working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and Outlook - and ideally Adobe InDesign - is important. A knowledge of content management system (CMS) would also be beneficial while the ability to organise a busy workload to meet various project deadlines is essencial.
