We are looking for a Family Liaison Officer (FLO) to join our committed team and support us on our journey to continued success. We are looking for a motivated person who can worked effectively with pupils, families and staff. They will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team and wider pastoral support, acting as a main point of contact for pupils and families who need additional support.
The role will include:
Establishing and fostering positive relationships with children and their families.
Acting as a point of contact in school for families in need of support.
Offering help and advice to families, including signposting to other agencies.
Promoting and leading events in school for families.
Striving to improve the lives of all vulnerable families.
Ensuring information is relayed to the DSL as appropriate and in accordance with the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
Participating in training events as required to ensure your knowledge is up-to-date and reflects excellent practice advice.
Promoting inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
Providing consistent support to all pupils, responding appropriately to individual pupil needs.
Supporting young carers and liaising with outside agencies
Being an excellent role model for Tollgate pupils and families in terms of emotional intelligence, standard English language usage and team work.
Being aware of, and complying with, all policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security and data protection.
Accompanying teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required.
Being part of the Safeguarding Team as a Deputy DSL.
Sharing with the Head of School any safeguarding / child protection concerns and maintaining confidentiality.
Liaising professionally and establishing constructive relationships with external agencies and attending multi-agency meetings as appropriate.
Completing appropriate referral forms to external agencies as and when required.

This post is covered by the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.
