To assist the HOD and other Fee Earners in the effective running of the department, carrying out the allocated duties in a professional and efficient manner, meeting our clients' needs, whilst contributing to the overall cost-effective management and success of the department. Office admin support and running of routine tasks from the Fee Earners task list in the department. Individual assigned jobs/trial bundle prep and client liaison. To provide support and assistance to the HOD and Fee Earners in the running of cases which would include divorce, matrimonial finances, nuptial agreements, children and injunction matters, surrogacy, cohabitee disputes and pre and post nuptial agreements for medium to HNW clients. Observing and listening to the HOD.

The ability to self-motivate and manage a caseload independently
Maintain competence through relevant CPD activities whilst ensuring a personal development portfolio and relevant training records, which satisfy the current regulations and requirements as specified by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) are kept updated
Keep informed of all changes in the law and practice and in your own area of work

Job Specific Duties
Dealing with initial enquiries by phone and in person - taking basic details, undertaking name conflict check and arranging initial appointment with the relevant Fee Earner
Provide face to face contact with clients where necessary and provide accurate, prompt, realistic and relevant advice in response to clients' enquiries whilst also managing their expectations
Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients
Collating and indexing documents into Court approved order
Uploading/downloading documents from Court Portal
Checking Court Portal for updates
Contacting the Court for information
Take notes and attend Court alongside Barristers and being on hand to liaise with the Fee Earner if required
Arranging conferences with Counsel, with Fee Earner and client and arranging MS Teams appointments where necessary
Attending appointments with Fee Earners in complex cases and taking notes
Inputting documents/bundles onto Proclaim
Preparing court bundles and brief document enclosures on BundleDocs
Taking telephone messages for Fee Earners
Taking payment from clients
Scanning documents onto Proclaim
Dealing with department administration e.g. old files, reviewing and scanning documents onto Proclaim so files can be destroyed
Chasing clients for outstanding information and documents
Arranging signatures on documents via the E-sign system
Self-supporting in terms of typing
Secretarial cover, as and when required
Plus, any other duties as reasonably requested by Management
With Experience and under Fee Earner Supervision:
Basic drafting tasks e.g. preparing a divorce application on the court Portal for Fee Earner to check
Drafting the more narrative parts of financial documents e.g. Form E
Dealing with Children Act enquiries re contact arrangements
