We are looking for two enthusiastic Family Practitioner to join our team in Stafford.
You'll play a key role in working with children and families to support children to remain within their families. Providing crisis intervention and working collaboratively with social workers to support children in need, children on child protection plans and children in care.
You'll be expected to undertake flexible, creative and imaginative approaches to offering support to children, young people their families and carers whilst underpinning our restorative approach.
This may include being available outside of traditional working patterns including evening and weekends to provide support to children, families and carers when it is needed.
Main Responsibilities
Our Family Practitioners are key workers for the children and families we support. In this role you'll be:
Leading on early help assessments and plans
Working together with social workers to support children in need
Contributing to parenting assessments
Supporting mediation, crisis prevention, conflict resolution and life story work
Supporting on the completion of accurate documentation, reports and records relating to work you do with children, young people and their families
And through all this great work you do, you'll be supporting children and families, with a restorative practice approach, helping them stay together where possible.
The Ideal Candidate
You will have:
A minimum of NVQ Level 3 related to working with children and families OR relevant experience
Experience of supporting children and their families within their homes, delivering direct work and being creative in the way that you work to engage children, their families and carers
Be flexible with working hours as there may be occasions where evening and weekend work may be needed
Have a current UK driving licence and vehicle
But above all, you'll bring the desire to work with children and families to give them the right support, at the right time with the aim of keeping families together where it's safe to do so.
