Daffodil Family Centre opened in January 2020. Part of the award-winning charity, Trevi, Daffodil provides residential parenting assessments in cases where there are concerns about a parent's capacity to keep a child safe.
We are looking for an experienced and confident Family Support Worker to join the team. You will be doing a range of direct support tasks, contributing to the residential parenting assessment process. We are looking for someone who has some experience in support work, excellent verbal and written communication skills, a great team ethic and the ability to work well under pressure.
We are looking for motivated women who are committed to working from a trauma informed perspective.
JOB PROFILE:
Contribute to a comprehensive assessment of parenting for families living at Daffodil Family Centre
Work within the care plan and risk management plan for each family residing at Daffodil Family Centre
Provide regular specific and targeted feedback to parents regarding their parenting and progress in placement
Help support parents to acquire the skills of parenting and independent living in terms of role modelling, advice and guidance in terms of current practice, statutory guidance and Trevi policies and procedures.
Monitor & supervise parents where necessary in the care of their children both on site and out in the community.
Support parents to reflect upon their parenting and enhance their ability to see the world through the eyes of their child
Promote the normal development of children and young people
Develop and maintain relationships with parents, social workers, teachers and other professionals
You will have the ability to work across a range of shift patterns including day shift, waking and sleeping nights shifts over a 24 hour period, including weekends and bank holidays.
To support women in achieving and sustaining their recovery from substance use, including addressing the issues underlying their use, alongside building recovery capital for the future
To model trauma informed practice with a person-centred approach
Ensure Safeguarding Policies are adhered too by staff and beneficiaries and to appropriately raise concerns with the FSW Lead
To role model Trevi's Policy and Procedures
From time to time, other duties relevant to the role including working in other Trevi locations
