About the Team:



Rugby Family Help Team work with a range of families including those in need of Family Help Assessment, Targeted Early Support, Children in Need, those who are on the Edge of Care, Child Protection and Court, and children in care until they have a plan of permanency. Our Family Help Team is multi-agency with Family Support Workers, Family Practitioners, Social Workers, Systemic Consultants, PCSO's and soon an NHS Nurse; all working together to meet the holistic needs to our families to reduce risk and keep families together.

We are a relational authority work with families under the principles of Trauma Informed and Restorative Practice to identify plans which meet each individual family's needs supports them to identify positive change. About the Role:



We are recruiting for the role of Family Support Worker in our Family Help Team covering Rugby for a part-time 22.5 hour post.

To be responsible for various levels of family support with individual families working in their home or other community settings as appropriate. As part of a multiagency team working in a restorative way, developing strong relationships to support families to help themselves, empowering families to make their own decisions and actively engage in their plan of support or intervention.


To undertake direct work with children and families as identified by the Family Help Lead Practitioner, in collaboration with the family and other professionals. This could be parenting support, domestic abuse work, direct work with children and young people etc. To lead on a small number of Targeted Early Support plans where the focus is to step down to Early Support, or to prevent escalation to Family Help. This will involve overseeing and co-ordinating the plan of support ensuring plans are SMART and outcome focussed. To be part of the duty rota for the wider team, supporting and meeting unexpected need across the spectrum of support as it arises within the Team.


Key Requirements:



The role is for 22.5 hours per week, ideally over 3 days.

Previous experience of working with children and/or families is essential.

We work flexibly with an expectation of 50% office presence and occasional working outside of office hours in line with the needs of the service.

You must be able to drive, hold a valid UK licence and have appropriate business insurance.
