Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to families, helping them navigate challenges and improve their overall well-being. This position requires a strong understanding of child development and the ability to foster positive relationships with children and their families.

Responsibilities



Provide emotional and practical support to families in need, ensuring their unique circumstances are understood and addressed. Assist families in accessing community resources, services, and programmes that promote their well-being. Develop and implement individualised support plans tailored to the specific needs of each family. Facilitate communication between families and relevant agencies, ensuring that all parties are informed and engaged. Monitor progress and provide ongoing support, adjusting plans as necessary to meet evolving needs. Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and outcomes for each family supported. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in family support practices.

Experience



Previous experience working with children is essential, demonstrating an understanding of child development principles. Experience in a social care or community support setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with families from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective collaboration with families and professionals alike. A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Evidence based programme facilitators highly desirable
