The Woods business was established in 1909 and continues to manufacture in Colchester, United Kingdom. We have around 250 people across all business functions from sales through design and product assembly & testing, as well as businesses in USA, UK, Germany & Singapore.
Woods is a brand of Flakt Group which is an international leader in wider HVAC products, systems, services, and solutions. As part of the wider group, Woods products are sold into multiple global applications through various routes to market including Group Companies, Agents & Distributors, Key Accounts as well as direct B2B.
The Colchester site is also the Centre of Excellence for the group for all Axial, Air Movement and Fire Safety products and serves to enable product & system sales in Building Services, Industrial, Original Equipment, and Tunnel & Metro applications globally. Our brand and product range is internationally recognised and flexible, from short-lead-time standard products through to technically complex design-to-order products. Manufacturing activities on site in Colchester include Assembly, Product Test, Stamping, Machining, Fabrication, and metal forming.

Main Purpose of Role:
To be the commercial driving force behind our Fan Selector software the digital face of our business. You'll own the tool end-to-end, ensuring its accurate, intuitive, and commercially effective. From managing data and stakeholder input to pushing innovation and customer experience, this role is key to keeping our products visible, sellable, and competitive.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Ownership & Strategy:
Own the Fan Selector tool roadmap and vision, aligning it with business goals.
Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding the tool.
Ensure the tool reflects our product catalogue accurately both Technically and commercially.
2.Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Product Management, and IT to gather and manage inputs.
Communicate effectively across departments to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
3.Data & Technical Oversight:
Ensure engineering data is correctly formatted and input using standard templates and procedures.
Manage country-specific selection rules and ensure compliance with local regulations.
Coordinate system changes, testing, and releases via Paramet and other platforms.
4.Commercial Integration:
Integrate selling prices, costs, and product data to support commercial decision-making.
Support product launches through Stage 5 publicity campaigns and ensure timely updates in the selector.
5.Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to enhance the tools functionality and user experience.
Drive automation and standardisation of data inputs and processes.
6.Customer Engagement & Training:
Represent the tool in customer interactions, ensuring it remains intuitive and informative.
Provide training and support to internal teams and external users.
Person Specification/Profile:
Proven experience in product ownership or product management, ideally within a technical or engineering-focused environment.
Strong understanding of digital tools, data management, and software development lifecycles.
Experience working with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, IT, and marketing.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex datasets and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Data Literacy: Comfortable working with technical data, templates, and pricing structures.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
Problem Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving issues, with a continuous improvement mindset.
