Farm Mechanic/engineer

Devon, United Kingdom

Job Description

Our client has two Farm Mechanic positions available on the farm for individuals with commercial livestock/farm experience.

  • A competent mechanic to work on heavy harvesting machinery. Primarily workshop-based, with some onsite work. Long hours in season, working to the highest standard. The ability to operate machinery & fabricate is an advantage.
  • A competent mechanic to work in the workshop of an arable & pig farm. Work is divided between maintenance, service & repair of machinery & field equipment. Combined with a similar amount of time working on modern pig equipment & buildings, fabrication ability is essential.
Candidates need to demonstrate reliability, honesty & the ability to work within a team.

Both positions are full-time with long-term potential and good pay & conditions.

Qualifications are unnecessary, although a manufacturer trained for position \'1\' would be advantageous.

Salary Guide is \xc2\xa325,000 - \xc2\xa330,000 + DOE

Both positions are paid hourly - position \'A\' can involve extra hours and weekend work in the harvest season.

Accommodation: 2-bed housing is available, or mobile homes.

For the roles, the farmer would be open to self-employed individuals & extra hours available in both cases.
