Our business ethos is to provide fresh and local produce to our customers, which is exactly what we do in our butchery, with meat coming from as close as the fields surrounding the farm shop. Our butchery comprises of 6 counters and a large multi-deck fridge, all filled with meats cut and prepared by our in-house butchers.
We are now seeking a dedicated Farm Shop Butcher to join our team and provide exceptional meat cutting and food preparation services. The ideal candidate will have a passion for quality food production, excellent knife skills, and a strong understanding of food safety standards. Responsibilities
Cut, trim, and prepare various types of meats for sale on our counters, fridges and for our cafe kitchen
Make sausages and produce 'value added meals'
Package meat products efficiently for retail display
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all tools, equipment, and work areas in compliance with food safety regulations
Assist customers with product selection and provide knowledgeable service to enhance their shopping experience
Ensure proper labeling and dating of all meat products for inventory management
Follow all health and safety guidelines related to food handling and storage
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and maintain high-quality standards
Monitor stock levels and communicate supply needs to management
Skills
Minimum of 5 years experience in food production, preparation, or butchery, with strong knife skills and meat cutting expertise
Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
Experience in packaging and labeling food products efficiently
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to assist shoppers professionally
Familiarity with the food industry standards and culinary practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene standards

This position will involve working from 42 hours per week, over 5 days. (Days may vary between Monday-Sunday)
Due to the nature of our business, you must be flexible to work any days of the week, including weekends as shifts can vary week-to-week.
