The Role
Are you reliable, enthusiastic, and eager to work in a practical, outdoor environment with livestock? Sofina Foods is looking for motivated individuals to join our Outdoor Pig Farming Operations in the St Andrews area.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work and is open to learning. While experience in agriculture is an advantage, it's not essential - we'll provide comprehensive training to help you thrive in your role.
Due to the rural locations of our farms, having your own transport is essential.
Starting Rate : 12.21
Experienced Rate (12 months +) : 12.61
Senior Rate : 13.50
Hours of work -
Monday to Thursday 6am to 3pm (approx).
Friday 6am to 2pm. (Weekend work is required on a rota basis).
Every third Thursday 4am to 1pm (Start time with Seasonal Variability).

The Ideal Candidate

• Comfortable working outdoors in a physical, hands-on role
• Reliable and self-motivated, with good timekeeping and a positive attitude
• Willing to learn and committed to following processes
• Able to travel to remote sites independently
• Experience with livestock is a plus, but not essential - we'll give you the skills and confidence to succeed.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Working with pigs on an outdoor unit, including feeding, moving, serving, and handling the pigs.
• Working as part of a team to maintain and uphold the highest standards of animal welfare.
• Following Health and Safety procedures and to support management in fostering a positive safety culture.
• Maintaining the overall appearance and condition of the farm.
• Safely and effectively operating farm machinery.
