Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

We are looking for a talented and experienced Designer to join our team and help shape the future of our fashion accessories collections. In this role, you will lead the design process for a wide range of accessories. Your creative vision, attention to detail, and market understanding will drive the development of innovative, trend-driven designs that align with our brand's aesthetic and customer needs.
Additionally, your strong graphic design skills will play a key role in visual storytelling, marketing materials, product packaging, and brand communication across various platforms.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the design and development of fashion accessories collections, from initial concept through to final production.

Research and analyse current trends in the fashion accessories market to inform design choices including creating mood and trend direction boards.

Create high-quality digital and physical design assets using Adobe Creative Suite, including product mock-ups, packaging concepts, and branding elements.

Collaborate with the product development team to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.

Work closely with the Product Director and sales teams to understand customer preferences and translate these into marketable designs and presentations.

Develop compelling visual presentations, lookbooks, and promotional materials to support seasonal launches and sales campaigns.

Oversee the sampling process by clearly and concisely briefing overseas manufacturers and provide feedback to ensure that designs are executed to specification.

Ensure adherence to deadlines and budgets for design projects, ensuring that designs are delivered on time and within scope.

To develop new product ranges to suit our customer base, working with existing and new suppliers from around the globe.

To monitor the progress and arrival of samples to ensure their required availability.

To transfer, in full, all relevant product information to overseas suppliers.

Working with the product teams to manage the sample range and ensure organised maintenance and storage of same through prototype, pre-production and gold seal stages.

To liaise with our suppliers in acquiring samples, production, test reports, packaging and to manage general enquiries with same.

To keep the QC department fully informed on new product and test results and provide gold samples to the QC department for checking against delivery before releasing for sale.

To create, maintain and update product and pack specification sheets and maintain comprehensive filing and retrieval systems as appropriate.

To respond to and act upon general customer requirements.

To undertake general office duties such as dealing with telephone calls and arranging courier services both for the UK and overseas, where required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties as may be assigned by your manager from time to time, consistent with the experience normally expected for a position at this level.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Understanding of the need to comply with company procedure regarding confidentiality and security of information.

Effective communication skills, both written and oral.

Good working knowledge of MS Office: Word and Excel.

Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and experience with CAD tools.

Experience creating digital assets for web, social media, and print is a strong advantage.

Ability to handle and effectively prioritise a wide variety of tasks.

Ability to work unsupervised in an accurate, methodical and organised manner with attention to detail.

Flexibility to work to deadlines, cope under pressure and willing to assist on all departments as required.
